HYPERSPHERE IS RECOGNIZED AS A SAMPLE VENDOR BY GARTNER® IN EMERGING TECH: ADOPTION TRENDS IN PREEMPTIVE CYBER DEFENSE

BY HYPERSPHERE TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
March 14, 2025
As stated in Gartner Emerging Tech: Adoption Trends in Preemptive Cyber Defense, by Isy Bangurah, Luis Castillo, and Walker Black; 12 November 2024: “Technology sector adopters show a forward-looking approach by embracing emerging threats like AI and quantum computing.” As per Gartner: “Banking, technology and government lead in deriving business value in preemptive cyber defense.” Gartner anticipates that: “By 2028, 35% of preemptive cyber defense (PCD) solutions will include preemptive exposure management and automated deception features, up from less than 5% today.”
Myriad reasons exist as to why adoption across all industries is slow or non-existent. Such reasons include:
  • a general lack of understanding of PCD;
  • an alleged lack of a correlation of PCD to mitigating the ransomware problem;
  • an alleged lack of future-proofing the technology against AI and quantum;
  • a desire to avoid adding yet another tool to the defense portfolio (particularly when it comes to data, organizations may find it necessary to maintain existing advanced encryption tools and data loss prevention systems); and
  • an alleged lack of seamless integration.
According to Gartner recommendations,
“Product leaders interested in incorporating preemptive cyber defense technologies and techniques into their security solution offerings should: Incorporate capabilities to detect emerging threats, such as AI-driven attacks and quantum-resistant encryption methods, in order to future-proof security solutions. Invest in R&D to incorporate advanced encryption algorithms and quantum-resistant methods.” Gartner also recommends that product leaders must, Enhance the adaptability of security measures to different environments and integrate them with various enterprise systems. Do so by developing APIs and connectors that facilitate seamless integration with a wide range of systems and third-party security tools.”
HyperSphere as a Product Leader
HyperSphere leads PCD efforts with its SecureStorage™ solution offered under its HyperSphere® brand. SecureStorage safeguards data from classic large-scale computing, AI, and quantum computers. The solution secures the data itself — down to the file level and indeed the frame level — before it is even written to storage.
When in storage, the data is obfuscated and rendered useless to all but authorized personnel. The solution integrates DoD and NIST security requirements at less than < 1% overhead, all with confidentiality, integrity, and resiliency on demand.
SecureStorage is seamlessly deployed without configuration errors. Automated moving target defense (AMTD) is also employed to create a different key per frame for every object and then hide each key in fourth-dimensional space. Not only are key vulnerabilities eliminated but a single object may contain thousands of keys that can never be lost, stolen, or misplaced, providing additional defense-in-depth against physical and cyber threats.
As should be apparent from a quick review of the above, SecureStorage addresses head-on all the above-identified reasons there is not yet industry-wide PCD adoption. In particular, the SecureStorage solution:
  • fortifies existing, legacy “detect and respond” systems already understood by many industries, led in particular by the banking and securities and healthcare sectors, and followed by the government and technology sectors;
  • vitiates the ransomware problem;
  • provides future-proof technology by using any NIST-approved encryption against AI and quantum threats;
  • vitiates the need for complex, costly key management systems by employing its unique AMTD strategy, which also inherently decouples encryption from storage; and
  • seamlessly integrates into existing systems via an API or via the use of an S3 connector that slots into any pre-existing (or future) S3-storage locale, permitting the organization to keep vendor discounts or choose the lowest-cost storage provider.
HyperSphere as a Sample Vendor
HyperSphere is proud to announce it has been mentioned by Gartner yet again as a Sample Vendor in the PCD solutions category. Gartner subscribers can access the full report at Emerging Tech: Adoption Trends in Preemptive Cyber Defense, by Isy Bangurah, Luis Castillo, and Walker Black; 12 November 2024.
Such recognition comes on the heels of prior mentions by Gartner of HyperSphere as a Sample Vendor. See Emerging Tech: Security — Top Trends in Preemptive Cyber Defense, by John Collins, Luis Castillo, Isy Bangurah, Walker Black; 4 September 2024; Emerging Tech: Build Preemptive Security Solutions to Improve Threat Detection (Part 1), by Luis Castillo and Carl Manion; 7 October 2024.
We believe the recognition of HyperSphere by Gartner as a Sample Vendor underscores its other leadership efforts. HyperSphere is the first and only solution to have a published NIST National Checklist hardening guide, derived from NIST 800-53 rev5, and aligning to both FISMA and DoD IL4 baselines:
Moreover, these baselines were peer-reviewed by the NSA.
As evidenced above, HyperSphere is poised to be foundational to an organization’s preemptive cyber defense capabilities. Indeed, we believe HyperSphere is essential to (i) create robust and cost-effective security against multimodal attacks that leverage classic large-scale computing, AI, and quantum computers; and (ii) comply with ever-demanding security standards and privacy laws.
